What is Scheme?
Scheme is a dialect or variant of the Lisp programming language designed to make Lisp-style programming simpler and clearer. Because Scheme predates Common Lisp, many of the advantages of Scheme have been carried forward into Common Lisp. The primary disadvantage of Scheme when compared with Common Lisp is probably its use of a single namespace, which can make collaborative coding more difficult.
